TOPS OF THE CLASS (TOTC) PROJECT BRIEF

The TOTC Project is an educational Program that revolves around a regular evaluation of the academic performance of the Child from Primary to Secondary Levels.

The Project would primarily work with the Private Schools to actualize the objectives of the Program as opposed to the Public schools in order to minimize the challenge of bureaucracy in the Public Sector.

Nonetheless, the Public Schools would be brought into the Project in the medium Term.

TOTC is a global Project beginning from the West African sub region.

It is the other leg of the CSR Project of our Oil, Gas and Energy Platform, created for the purpose of attracting the attention of industry Players with a view to exploring the Educational window to impact the wider society through their CSRs.

In other words, the TOTC is an avenue we would be exploiting to mobilize and galvanize the Oil, Gas and Energy industry to impact the larger community with their CSR objectives and vision.

To commence fully before the end of the year, TOTC would begin with the Directory of Champion Scholars (DOCS) and later embark on the weekly evaluation Project.

DOCS is an annual assessment of the Child in which his/her performance in Subjects and Moral Conduct in a previous session is published on the Platform. This would then be followed by a weekly/monthly assessment of the same subjects.

Prizes for these performances would be instituted and branded in the name of prospective sponsors from the Energy Industry.

By the second year, when it would have been fully structured, the project would follow the order of DOCS to be followed immediately with the weekly run.

Objectives

  1. To return to Education its lost glory and restore education-inspired values back to our homes and society at large
  2. To improve the standard of Education in Nigeria, West Africa and the world at large
  3. To inspire and motivate every Primary and Secondary school student to see Education as a personal business venture they need to give their undivided attention
  4. To keep Teachers, PRODUCTIVELY, busy and more dedicated to the job of Teaching
  5. To reduce incidents of juvenile delinquency and gangsterism in our schools.
  6. To encourage greater efficiency in the administrative management of our secondary schools.
  7. To increase the interest of Parents in their Ward’s educational life and be rewarded for their efforts.
  8. To refine the commitments of relevant Public and Private sector-administrations to the pragmatic issues that impact on the standards of Education in Nigeria, West Africa and the global communities.

Benefits to Sponsor

  1. There is much profit to be made from the project
  2. The Project Publication will serve as an effective platform to promote and advertise its Products and Services
  3. The Publication will undoubtedly be the highest circulating Publication in Nigeria and Africa
  4. Through the special Publication created for the Project, prospective Sponsors would be able to benefit from the extensive reach of the Tabloid or magazine to promote their products and services
  5. Since the publication will be given to families, the tabloid or magazine thus becomes the channel for you to capture a captive clientele for the promotions of your Products and Services/Announcements etc.
  6. As a major Sponsor of the Project, your Product shall be the Project’s official Brand. This will be well emphasized during the annual Award ceremonies which can be compared to a Grammy-styled Award in grandeur and glamour.

The Integrative Components

Some of the components embeded in the Project to make the Program an inclusive competition are outlined below:

  1. The Parent Factor: Every Parent would be happy to have their Child’s academic brilliance recognized in a Publication and so would gladly love to buy a copy as a souvenir for that recognition.
  2. The PTA Factor: At their meetings, the Parent Teachers Association would be happy to identify with the Program
  3. The Child Participant: When the child realizes that his efforts at being a bright and well-behaved student would be recognized on a regular basis, there is a high possibility he/she would personally take her studies more seriously with little or no prompting
  4. The Teacher-School Angle: At the end of the national Test, we would have Student Winners basically and also Awards for Teachers, Principals and the Schools as the Institution that produced the winning students. This will encourage the participating schools to take their jobs more seriously.

Why Do we Have to make it a Weekly Program?

Yes, we do have the option of doing the Test once or twice every month to save stress etc. But we decide to go this hard route to make the Project more inclusive and widen the scope of participation. The idea is to give a larger population of Pupils and Students, the sense of belonging in the Project.

The idea is to instill in the mind of the Child, the hope, that he, too, has a chance to win at the national and international contest. That he has a shot at getting to the national or international contest at all. If he does not get a chance with the Moral, he may get a shot at the Academic and vice versa.

The whole idea is also designed to ensure that the schools are working and, on their toes, weekly knowing that they must submit names of winners for the competition.

Ordinarily, this is just the normal duty of the School Management and the Teaching Staff but we have to come with this outside of the box initiative to get a everyone to do their job so our children can get the education they require to move on in life.
